I picked up this Joyce Chen spider strainer mainly for deep-frying and hotpot nights, and it has been a solid addition to my kitchen. The 7-inch stainless steel basket is roomy enough to scoop out several dumplings or egg rolls at once, and the mesh drains oil and water quickly. The bamboo handle really does stay cool, which makes handling hot food much safer. It feels sturdy and rust-resistant so far. Hand wash only, which is a minor tradeoff, but the 17.75 inch length gives good reach. Great for Asian-style cooking.
